Here is one common theme that I heard from both sides (if indeed there were only two), and it sounds something like: this mess is a family feud.
After a full day of walking and busing, I ventured out to to find some music. I ended up at Feel Beit, where Apo Sahagian, and Armenian musician, interviewed Natalie Marcus, the screen-writer of Fauda, Tehran, and The Jews are Coming.
They observed how their people - both the Jews and the Armenians - cope with trauma through satire, making jabs at their own culture. In an example, Natalie calls Abraham the top 5 worse father in her books,“He tries to kill one son and sent the other into exile. He mutilates both their genitalia, and left them with a real estate dispute that lasted until today.”
I have heard a similar discourse just that morning from a descendant of the other son. It sounded to me like both narrators wished that the focus was more family than feud.
